Moakley Park and nearby areas were identified in the City of Boston’s Climate Ready Boston report as being at risk to flooding in the near- and long-term future due to climate change. As part of our efforts to integrate climate resiliency into all city planning efforts, we have the opportunity to build a more resilient future for this area of Boston.
The Moakley Park Vision Plan, led by the City’s Parks and Recreation Department, will evaluate the entire park, all structures (including buildings), and infrastructure to assess future park renovations and climate resiliency potential. We’ll be displaying the ongoing work of this planning process at the event and asking you for your recommendations. DISCOVER Moakley is an opportunity to bring the community together to enjoy the park and understand the importance of protecting it and its surrounding area for future generations.
Please RSVP here to confirm you’ll be joining us on Saturday, Sept. 29th.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer at the event, please email David Corbie at [email protected].
