Please join us for a Cambridge community summit and screening of Judith Helfand's award-winning documentary Cooked: Survival by Zipcode, adapted from Eric Klinenberg's groundbreaking book Heat Wave: A Social Autopsy of Disaster in Chicago that focused on the deadly 1995 Chicago heat wave.
The focus of this gathering is to explore how a zip code can be an accurate predictor of life or death during and after natural disasters, especially as we increasingly encounter the impacts of climate change.
The event will include a documentary screening, followed by a panel discussion featuring Director and Producer Judith Helfand, Claude A. Jacob, Chief Public Health Officer for the Cambridge Public Health Department, and Dr. Gaurab Basu, Primary Care Physician at the Cambridge Health Alliance.
